Egyre több információ lát napvilágot Fernando Alonso súlyos sérüléséről, aki idén tervezett visszatérni a Forma-1-ben egy több éves kihagyást követően, de lehetséges, hogy még várnia kell.
Először az olasz sajtó számolt be a kétszeres spanyol világbajnok súlyos kerékpárbalesetéről, miután elütötte egy autó. A pontos részletek nem ismertek, de az már biztos, hogy az Alpine pilótája azonnali kórházi ellátásra szorult.
Már az első hírek is lehetséges törésekről szóltak, és ezzel egy időben beindult a nagy médialavina és találgatás, hogy vajon mennyit kell kihagynia 2005 és 2006 világbajnokának, aki két évig volt távol a királykategóriától.

Veszélybe került a kétszeres világbajnok Fernando Alonso F1-es visszatérése: olasz lapértesülések szerint kerékpározás közben ütötte el egy autó.
Az olasz La Gazzetta dello Sport értesülései szerint egy autó ütötte el Fernando Alonsót, miközben a svájci Lugano közelében kerékpározott. A kétszeres világbajnokot gyorsan a helyi kórházba szállították, az első röntgenfelvételek alapján több csontja is eltörhetett, ami akár visszatérését is veszélybe sodorhatja.
Csütörtök esti tweetjében az Alpine is megerősítette a tényt, miszerint baleset érte Alonsót. Úgy tudni, tudatánál van a spanyol, viszont az enstone-i csapat közleménye szerint az orvosi kivizsgálások eredményei csak péntek reggelre várhatóak. Ennél hamarabb nem is fog nyilatkozni Alonso ügyében az Alpine.
A 39 éves versenyzőhöz közel álló forrásokra hivatkozva arról írt a BBC F1-es szakírója, Andrew Benson a Twitteren, hogy Alonsót át fogják szállítani Bernbe, ahol egy specialista veszi kezelésbe. Információi szerint az állkapcsa tört el.
Alonso a 2015-ös szezon előtt is balesetet szenvedett, amikor a barcelonai előszezoni teszten falnak ütközött a McLaren-Hondával. Az akkori incidens következtében agyrázkódást szenvedett el, ami miatt a szezonnyitó Ausztrál Nagydíjat ki is hagyta.
Hat évvel ezelőtt Kevin Magnussen ugrott be Alonso helyére a wokingiaknál, jelen esetben kérdéses, ki lehetne a spanyol helyettese, az Alpine ugyanis még nem jelentette be tartalékversenyzőjét. Tavaly Szergej Szirotkin és az Alpine Academy tagjai között listázott Csou Kuan-jü voltak az akkor még Renault-ként szereplő gárda tartalékosai.

A következő szezontól Fernando Alonso visszatér a Renault színeiben a Forma-1-be, de egyelőre a csapat és a pilóta sem tervezi azt, hogy szabadedzésen pályára lép az idei autóval. Alonso állítja, a korábbiaktól eltérő hozzáállással versenyez majd.
Kétéves kihagyás után Fernando Alonso visszatér a Forma-1 mezőnyébe, pályafutása során harmadszor is a Renault-hoz szegődött, és a tervek szerint a 2021-es, valamint a 2022-es szezont az enstone-i istálló színeiben tölti.
Alonso felbukkanása újabb fordulat a koronavírus által is felbolygatott pilótapiacon: először a Ferrari jelentette be, hogy az év végén Sebastian Vettel távozik a csapattól, majd kiderült, Carlos Sainz érkezik a helyére a McLarentől, ahova a Renault jelenlegi pilótája, Daniel Ricciardo igazol. Így nyílt hely Alonsónak ismét a mezőnyben.
Tekintettel arra, hogy lényegében mindenki jobban járna, ha már most elfoglalhatná az új helyét, és nem kellene 2021-ig várni, több pletyka is felröppent, hogy Alonso akár már az idén beülhet a Renault-ba, de a pilóta és leendő csapatfőnöke, Cyril Abiteboul azt mondta, egyelőre azt sem tervezik, hogy a kétszeres F1-es világbajnok szabadedzésen vezesse az idei autót.
„A terveket még nem dolgoztuk ki, részben azért, mert jelenleg az Indy 500 a legfontosabb prioritás a számomra. A csapatnak is mozgalmas ez az időszak, jön Ausztria, Magyarország, aztán Silverstone, úgyhogy mindkét fél nagyon elfoglalt a következő másfél hónapban” – mondta Alonso az F1 hivatalos weboldalán megjelent videointerjúban.
„Szeptembertől az a terv, hogy meglátogatom a gyárat, találkozom a srácokkal, tartunk néhány megbeszélést. Az autót szerintem az idén egyáltalán nem fogom vezetni.”
„Lehet, hogy elmegyek néhány versenyre, de csak azért, hogy lássam a csapatot dolgozni. Az enstone-i szimulátorban talán eltöltök majd néhány napot, és próbálok segíteni a csapatnak amennyit csak tudok” – tette hozzá a spanyol pilóta, aki 39 évesen tér majd vissza a sportág csúcskategóriájába.
Alonso álláspontjával egyetértett Cyril Abiteboul, a Renault csapatfőnöke is. A francia szakember kijelentette, nem hiszi, hogy Alonsónak szüksége van szabadedzésekre ahhoz, hogy hozzászokjon egy F1-es autóhoz. „Meglátjuk, hogy adódik-e kézenfekvő lehetőség. A 2018-as autóban bármikor pályára tudjuk küldeni. Nem tartom szükséges befektetésnek, hogy szabadedzésen vegyen részt.”
A spanyol pilóta a pályafutása során többször is összerúgta a port a csapataival, amikor nem jöttek az eredmények azért, mert az autója nem volt eléggé versenyképes. Most is felmerült, hogy Alonsónak lesz-e elég türelme a jelenleg csak a középmezőnybe tartozó Renault-hoz, de azt mondta, tudja, hogy milyen fába vágja a fejszéjét.
„Igen, készen állok, tisztában vagyok a kihívással. Tudom, hogyan fog kinézni a 2021-es év, az autó nagyon hasonlít majd a 2020-ashoz, amivel most versenyeznek, hiszen a vírus miatt egy évvel elhalasztották a szabályváltozásokat. Van tennivaló, ezzel képben vagyok, 2022 lehetőséget tartogat, de talán nem varázsütés.”
„Dolgoznunk kell, és már 2021-ben is lendületbe kell jönnünk, akkor is, ha az eredmények nem úgy alakulnak majd, ahogy reméljük, és amit a rajongók látni szeretnének. A háttérben viszont haladnunk kell, a gyárban mindenkitől motivációra van szükség. A 2003-as, 2004-es hangulatot kell visszahoznunk, amikor még nem értük el a célunkat, de látszott, hogy valami már készülőben van.”
„Ismét ezt akarom látni, a küldetésem is ez lesz. Ha létre tudjuk hozni a jövő győztes csapatát, az szenzációs lesz, ha még akkor vezetek, akkor az kiváló lesz, ha már nem, akkor annak is örülni fogok, ha egy Renault-akadémista teszi, mert létrehoztunk egy győzelemre esélyes csapatot.”
Alonso esetleges szerepvállalásának kérdését az FIA csütörtöki sajtótájékoztatóján feltették az ülés jelenlegi birtokosának, Ricciardónak is. Kijelentette, szerinte a spanyol pilótának nincs szüksége arra, hogy első szabadedzéseken való részvétellel segítsék a visszatérését, és ő maga is arra készül, hogy a lehető legtöbbet vezethessen az idei szezon során.
„Egyáltalán nem úgy tűnt, hogy a korral lelassult volna. Az utolsó F1-es szezonja elég jól sikerült, úgy hallottam meg úgy is láttam. Az eredmények persze nem mindig jöttek, de eléggé nyilvánvalónak tűnt, hogy a lehető legtöbbet kihozza az autóból, úgyhogy nem hinném, hogy segítségre van szüksége.”
