A döntést a rendezők a nemzetközi szövetséggel folytatott megbeszéléseket követően hozták meg a szombati időmérő után.
A közlemény szerint a lehető legkevesebb fennakadást szeretnék a futam lebonyolításában, és a nagydíjat a legjobb körülmények között lehessen befejezni, valamint a versenyzők, a szurkolók, a csapatok és a személyzet biztonsága legyen a legfontosabb.
Így aztán a futam magyar idő szerint nem 22, hanem 19 órakor rajtol.
Az időmérőn kilencedik helyen záró francia Isack Hadjar (Red Bull) autójának padlózata az átvizsgálások alapján szabálytalan volt, ezért várhatóan csak a boxutcából rajtolhat majd. Erről a rajt előtt hat órával döntenek majd.
