A BBC beszámolója szerint a Walesi Labdarúgó Szövetség (FAW) a döntést megelőzően kikérte a klubok véleményét.
A FAW közleménye szerint figyelembe vették a bajnokságban résztvevők egészségét és biztonságát, illetve nem akarják kockáztatni a ligák és klubjaik hosszú távú pénzügyi stabilitását.
A Connah Quay Nomads első alkalommal lett bajnok, így indulhat a Bajnokok Ligája következő idényének selejtezőjében. Az előző nyolc évad aranyérmese, a The New Saints ezúttal második lett – mivel februárban 1-0-ra kikapott a Connah Quaytől -, és a Bala Town, valamint a Barry Town mellett készülhet az Európa-liga selejtezőjére.
Az FAW egyelőre nem döntött arról, lesznek-e kiesők és feljutók.
