Oroszország nem vehet részt a 2024-es párizsi olimpián. Moszkva szeptemberben Baráti Világjátékokat rendezne.
A Nemzetközi Olimpiai Bizottság (NOB) óva intette a nemzeti olimpiai bizottságokat attól, hogy részt vegyenek az oroszországi Baráti Világjátékokon, mondván, az megsértené az oroszokra vonatkozó szankciós irányelveket. A NOB álláspontját James MacLeod, a NOB illetékes osztályának igazgatója tette közzé, akinek szavait az insidethegames.biz portál ismertette.
Oroszország 2024 szeptemberében Moszkvában tervezi megrendezni az első nyári Baráti Világjátékokat, amelyeket Thomas Bach NOB-elnök korábban politizált sporteseménynek minősített. Oleg Maticin orosz sportminiszter válaszában úgy reagált, hogy az esemény nem a NOB ellen irányul.
A Nemzetközi Olimpiai Bizottság március végén azt javasolta, hogy az orosz és fehérorosz sportolók kizárólag semleges státuszban indulhassanak a nemzetközi versenyeken, és csak azok, akik nyilvánosan nem támogatták Oroszország ukrajnai háborúját, nem állnak kapcsolatban a fegyveres erőkkel, illetve nemzetbiztonsági szervekkel. Ezzel egy időben a NOB megtiltotta Oroszországnak és Fehéroroszországnak, hogy a területükön olimpiai sportágak nemzetközi versenyeit rendezzék meg.

A Nemzetközi Automobil Szövetség szerint az ilyen megnyilvánulások sértik a szervezet semlegességét.
A Forma–1-es versenyzők mostantól csak engedéllyel nyilatkozhatnak politikai vagy vallási témában. A Nemzetközi Automobil Szövetség (FIA) kedden közölte a Nemzetközi Sportkódex új záradékát, mely kimondja, hogy a versenyzők szabálysértést követnek el, amennyiben „politikai, vallási, vagy személyes jellegű nyilatkozatot adnak, vagy akár megjegyzéseket tesznek”. Ugyanis szerintük ez sérti a szövetség alapszabálya alapján támogatott semlegesség általános elvét.
A szabályozás értelmében a pilóták a közösségi oldalukon sem fogalmazhatják meg ezekben a témákban véleményüket. Sőt nem jelenhet meg semmilyen politikai vagy vallási nézet ruházataikon sem – hiszen az a FIA szerint sérti a szervezet semlegességét.
Az elmúlt években a sportág két nagy sztárja, Lewis Hamilton és Sebastian Vettel is keményen állást foglalt több közéleti témában. Hamilton – aki egyébként a F1 történetének első és eddig egyetlen fekete világbajnoka – két évvel ezelőtt pont közösségi oldalán és a ruháin is kiállt a Black Lives Matter mozgalom mellett, és megjelent már olyan pólóban is, amelyen az a felirat szerepelt, hogy „tartóztassák le a rendőröket, akik megölték Breonna Taylort”. Sebastian Vettel pedig tavaly „Same Love” feliratú felsőjében hallgatta végig a Magyar Nagydíjon a himnuszt az LMBTQ-közösség melletti kiállásként.
Feltehetően ezek megelőzésére egészítették ki a kódexben foglaltakat azzal is, hogy a versenyzőknek szigorúan be kell tartaniuk a dobogós protokollt is. Amennyiben ezt nem teszik meg, komoly szankciókkal számolhatnak.
A szabályok alól abban az esetben lehet kibújni, ha a versenyző külön, előzetesen jóváhagyott engedéllyel rendelkezik.

Sakk tornával méltatták Kárpátalja megyeszékhelyének napját. A versenyt az Ungvári 2. számú közkönyvtár fiók intézetében szervezték meg, melyre Ukrajna nyolc megyéjéből érkeztek résztvevők.
