Életének 71. évében elhunyt Branikovits László, a Ferencvárosi Torna Club olimpiai ezüstérmes futballistája.



A klub honlapjának pénteki beszámolója szerint Branikovits a felnőttek között 1967-ben mutatkozott be és egészen 1976-ig erősítette az együttest, ez idő alatt 200 alkalommal lépett pályára az FTC-ben és 74 gólt szerzett.







Amellett, hogy háromszor nyert magyar bajnokságot, tagja volt az 1968-ban Vásárvárosok Kupája-döntős, az 1972-ben UEFA-kupa elődöntős és az 1975-ben KEK-döntős csapatnak is. Branikovits László a magyar válogatottban hatszor lépett pályára, és két gólt lőtt. Tagja volt az 1972-es müncheni olimpián ezüstérmet szerzett csapatnak.
