Verstappen idén a 16. sikerét ünnepelhette, ami új rekord, hiszen ennyi futamot még senki nem nyert egy szezonon belül. Pályafutása során 51. alkalommal, Mexikóban pedig ötödször győzött.
A holland mögött a hétszeres világbajnok Lewis Hamilton, a Mercedes brit pilótája lett a második, a monacói Charles Leclerc pedig a harmadik helyen zárt a Ferrarival.
Verstappen remekül rajtolt, és a harmadik helyről már az első kanyar előtt az élre ugrott. Csapattársa, a hazai közönség előtt szereplő Sergio Pérez viszont kiállni kényszerült, mivel nekiütközött az első helyről indult Leclerc autójának.
A folytatásban Verstappen, Leclerc és Carlos Sainz Jr. sorrendben haladt az első három, majd a 11. körben Hamilton feljött a negyedik helyre Daniel Ricciardo megelőzésével. Az élmezőny tagjai a huszadik körben kezdték meg a kerékcseréket, majd a 33. körben Kevin Magnussen a falnak csapódott, és bár sértetlenül szállt ki a járműből, a roncs eltakarítása, illetve a pálya oldalfalának helyreállítása miatt piros zászlóval félbeszakították a futamot.
Állórajttal folytatódott a verseny, Verstappen mögött Leclerc, Hamilton és Sainz haladt, majd a negyvenedik körben Hamilton egy előzéssel a második helyre került. Cunoda Juki a nyolcadikról visszaesett a 16. helyre, mivel egy előzési kísérlet során nekiütközött Oscar Piastrinak. Utóbbi később elengedte csapattársát, Lando Norrist, aki megelőzte előbb Ricciardót, majd George Russellt is, így végül ötödik lett.
A szezon a jövő hétvégén Sao Paulóban a Brazil Nagydíjjal folytatódik.

Verstappen mögött a két McLaren végzett a második és a harmadik helyen: a szombati sprintfutamon diadalmaskodó ausztrál Oscar Piastri karrierje legjobb helyezését érte el az ezüstérmes pozíció megkaparintásával, míg a brit Lando Norris az idén már ötödik alkalommal állhatott dobogóra, de először az alsó fokára – számolt be összefoglalójában a Magyar Távirati Iroda.
A rajt előtt egy órával jelentette be a Ferrari, hogy a spanyol Carlos Sainz Jr. nem tud elindulni a futamon, mert a versenyautójának üzemanyagrendszere meghibásodott.
A start a Mercedes-istálló szempontjából sikerült a legrosszabbul, mert hiába indult nagyszerűen a hétszeres világbajnok brit Lewis Hamilton, az első kanyarban túlságosan bátor előzéssel próbálkozott, aminek eredményeként éppen csapat- és honfitársa, George Russell autójának ütközött. Hamilton és Russell is megpördült, előbbi a kavicságyban kötött ki, és feladta a versenyt, utóbbi pedig csak a mezőny végére tudott visszasorolni.
A baleset miatt a pályára hajtott a biztonsági autó, amely aztán az ötödik körben engedte útjára a mezőnyt.
Verstappen az élről indíthatta újra a száguldást, mögötte Piastri és Fernando Alonso haladt a második és harmadik helyen. Az Aston Martin kétszeres világbajnok spanyol versenyzője az élmenők közül elsőként állt ki kerékcserére, ezután Piastri, majd Verstappen is a bokszban járt friss abroncsokért. A korábbi sorrend a 23. körre állt vissza az első három pozíciót tekintve, de Piastrinak két körrel később újfent kerékcsere miatt kellett kigurulnia a bokszba.
A 33. körben Alonso elhibázott egy kanyart, ami miatt veszített néhány pozíciót, helyére Norris jött fel harmadiknak. Verstappen a 35. körben letudta a második bokszkiállását is, és visszatért az élre, előnye hat másodperc feletti volt Piastrihoz képest, akit három-négy másodperces lemaradással követett Norris. Közben az első kanyarban megpördülő Russell már negyedik volt.
A hajrá kezdetén előbb Piastri, majd Norris is újfent friss abroncsokat kapott, de utóbbi kevesebb mint két másodpercnyi hátránnyal követte csapattársát, arról azonban rádión megpróbálták lebeszélni, hogy megtámadja Piastrit.
Verstappennek a hajrában még egy újabb kerékcsere is belefért a magabiztos győzelembe, a két McLaren pedig végül nem keveredett csatába egymással.
A vb két hét múlva az Egyesült Államok Nagydíjával folytatódik a texasi Austinban.

A 25 éves holland pilótának ez az idei 13. és pályafutása 48. futamgyőzelme, mellyel karnyújtásnyira került sorozatban harmadik egyéni vb-címétől. Verstappen két hét múlva, Katarban biztosíthatja be végső diadalát.
Szuzukában Verstappen mögött Lando Norris, a McLaren brit versenyzője végzett a második helyen, míg a dobogó alsó fokára a másik McLarent vezető ausztrál Oscar Piastri állhatott fel. Utóbbinak ez pályafutása első dobogós helyezése a Forma–1-ben.
Verstappennek a rajtnál mindkét McLarennel meg kellett küzdenie az első hely megtartásáért, de sikerrel járt, viszont másodiknak a harmadik pozícióból startoló Norris sorolt be. Az első körben rögtön a pályára hajtott a biztonsági autó, mert a rajtnál történt kisebb ütközések miatt törmelék került az aszfaltra. A száguldás az ötödik körben folytatódhatott, Verstappen haladt az élen, mögötte Norris és Piastri jött a második és harmadik helyen.
A kerékcserék sorát Piastri kezdte meg a 14. körben, két körrel később Verstappen, majd pedig Norris is a boxban járt friss abroncsokért. Ezután visszaállt a korábbi sorrend, Verstappen előnye több mint 11 másodperc volt, Piastrit viszont egy másodpercen belüli lemaradással követte Norris, aki rádión jelezte a csapatnak, hogy minél tovább marad a márkatárs mögött, annál nehezebb lesz számára a verseny. Két körrel később Norris meg is előzte Piastrit a célegyenesben, utóbbi pedig aztán a 36. körben tudta le második kerékcseréjét.
Norris a 37. körben járt másodszor a boxban friss gumikért, egy körrel később Verstappent is behívta a Red Bull a második kerékcserére, így a holland címvédő gond nélkül állt vissza az élre.
A harmadik vb-címétől karnyújtásnyira kerülő Verstappen sikerét innentől a pályán lévő riválisok már nem tudták veszélyeztetni, a McLaren versenyzői pedig összességében végig jó teljesítményt nyújtva értek oda a második és harmadik pozícióba.
A következő világbajnoki futamot október 8-án rendezik Katarban.

A 25 éves holland pilótának ez az idei 10. és pályafutása 45. futamgyőzelme, egymás után nyolcadszor diadalmaskodott, Belgiumban sorozatban harmadszor nyert. A Red Bull istállónak így 13-ra nőtt a már eddig is rekordot jelentő győzelmi szériája, az osztrák istálló ráadásul ezúttal kettős sikert ünnepelhetett, mert a második helyen Verstappen csapattársa, a mexikói Sergio Pérez zárt Spában.
A dobogó alsó fokára a pole pozícióból rajtoló Charles Leclerc, a Ferrari monacói versenyzője állhatott fel.
A rajt után Leclerc nem sokáig tudta megtartani a vezető pozíciót, az Eau Rouge kanyarkombinációt követő egyenesben ugyanis Pérez a szélárnyékot is felhasználva simán megelőzte a monacói riválist. A sebességváltó-cseréért kapott büntetés miatt hatodikként startoló Verstappen kihasználta az előtte lezajlott kisebb csetepatékat és feljött negyediknek, majd a hatodik körben már harmadik volt, miután lehagyta Lewis Hamiltont (Mercedes).
A kilencedik körben Verstappen Leclerc-t is megelőzte, így már második volt, majd a 13. és a 15. kör között sorrendben Hamilton, Pérez, Leclerc és Verstappen is a boxba hajtott kerékcserére. A holland vb-címvédő másodikként tért vissza a pályára, de nagyon közel volt csapattársához, akit rövidesen gond nélkül lehagyott.
A 19. körben elkezdett esni az eső, de nem került jelentős mennyiségű csapadék a pályára, mert az esőzés csak néhány percig tartott.
Tizenöt körrel a leintés előtt Verstappen előnye csaknem tíz másodperc volt Pérez előtt, de ez több mint 27 másodpercre nőtt, mert a mexikói ekkor tudta le a második kerékcseréjét. Korábban a negyedik Hamilton és a harmadik Leclerc is járt már a boxban, kettejük csatája a harmadik helyért zajlott, Hamilton nagyjából 2.5 másodpercre volt a Ferrari monacói versenyzőjétől, ez a különbség állandósulni látszott.
A verseny utolsó harmadában már nem történt jelentős változás az élmezőnyben, Verstappen fölényesen nyert, így már 125 pontos előnnyel áll Pérez előtt a vb-pontverseny élén.
A 42. születésnapját szombaton ünnepelt spanyol Fernando Alonso, az Aston Martin kétszeres vb-győztes versenyzője az ötödik helyen zárta a viadalt.

A 25 éves pilótának ez volt az idei kilencedik, és pályafutása 44. futamgyőzelme, a Red Bull pedig sorozatban a 12. elsőségét ünnepelhette, ezzel megdöntötte a McLaren 1988-ban felállított, 11 sikerből álló rekordját.
A Mogyoródon tavaly is győztes Verstappen mögött Lando Norris, a McLaren brit versenyzője ért célba másodikként, a másik Red Bullt vezető mexikói Sergio Pérez pedig harmadikként. A pole pozícióból rajtoló Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) negyedik lett.
Verstappen előnye a szezon felénél így 110 pontra nőtt az összetettben Pérez előtt.
A rajtot Hamilton nem kapta el tökéletesen, ezt pedig a mellőle induló Verstappen kihasználta és az első kanyarban átvette a vezetést. Hamiltont láthatóan kizökkentette az elhibázott start, a harmadik kanyar után már csak negyedik volt, mert mindkét McLaren megelőzte. Egy kör után Verstappen, Oscar Piastri, Norris volt a dobogós helyeken száguldók sorrendje, majd Hamilton, valamint a két Ferrari – sorrendben Charles Leclerc és Carlos Sainz Jr. – következett.
Az Alpine istálló számára mindössze egy körig tartott a Magyar Nagydíj, a startot rettenetesen elrontó Csou Kuan-jü (Alfa Romeo) ugyanis az első féktávot elhibázta, hátulról meglökte Daniel Ricciardót (Alpha Tauri), aki az előtte lévő Esteban Ocon versenyautóját öklelte fel. Az Alpine balszerencséje, hogy Ocon emiatt oldalról eltalálta csapattársát, Pierre Gaslyt, így a kör végén a francia csapat mindkét versenyzője a boxba hajtott és kénytelen volt feladni a viadalt.
A 15. körre állandósulni látszottak a különbségek az élmezőnyben haladók között, Verstappennek sikerült komolyabb, hét másodperc környéki előnyt kiautóznia, Piastrit pedig nagyjából 2-2.5 másodperces lemaradással követte Norris.
Hamiltont a negyedik helyről a 17. körben hívta ki kerékcserére a Mercedes, egy körrel később Norris, majd Piastri is friss abroncsokat kapott, de az ausztrál csak brit csapattársa mögé tudott visszatérni a pályára. Verstappen a 23. körben hajtott a boxba, kerékcseréjét kiválóan végrehajtotta a Red Bull szerelőgárdája, így a vb-címvédő gond nélkül visszaállt az első helyre.
A 30. körben Verstappen előnye 6.7 másodperc volt Norris előtt, akit Piastri tisztes távolságból, nagyjából 3.5 másodperccel lemaradva követett. Hamilton közben a csapatrádión arról érdeklődött, hogy a pálya melyik részén veszít időt, soknak találta ugyanis a hátrányát a McLarenekhez képest. A mezőny nagy részétől eltérő gumistratégián lévő Pérez eddigre már ötödiknek jött fel, és az övé volt a leggyorsabb kör is, így várható volt, hogy rövidesen meg tudja majd támadni Hamiltont a negyedik helyért.
A versenytáv feléhez érve Verstappen előnye már 10 másodperc feletti volt, Norris a második, Piastri pedig a harmadik pozícióját óvta, Hamiltonhoz viszont egyre közelebb zárkózott Pérez, akivel a csapatrádión közölték, hogy reális esélye van dobogós helyen befejezni a viadalt. A mexikói versenyző a 42. körben támadta meg először a brit sztárt, de kísérletét a hétszeres világbajnok kivédekezte. A kör végén Piastri a harmadik, Pérez az ötödik pozícióból hajtott a boxba újabb kerékcserére, így átmenetileg mindketten kissé hátrébb csúsztak a sorrendben.
A 45. körben Norris McLarenjén is kerekeket cseréltek, két körrel később Pérez feljött negyediknek, miután első előzési próbálkozása alkalmával elment a keményen védekező Piastri mellett. Húsz körrel a vége előtt Hamilton is a boxban járt és friss abroncsokat kapott a Mercedesére, miközben Verstappen előnye 35 másodpercre duzzadt a második Norisszal szemben, így a sikerét ettől a ponttól semmi nem veszélyeztette. A holland címvédő le is tudta második kerékcseréjét és gond nélkül tért vissza az élre.
A leintés előtt 15 körrel Verstappen, Norris, Pérez, Piastri, Hamilton volt az első öt sorrendje, de a britek hétszeres vb-győztese kisvártatva feljött negyediknek. Az utolsó körökben Hamiltonnak még majdnem sikerült támadási közelségbe kerülnie Pérezhez is, azonban ez végül nem jött össze neki.
Verstappennek a mogyoródi volt F1-es pályafutása 175. futama, ahol a Williams istálló – pontot nem szerezve – fennállása 800. Forma-1-es versenyét futotta.

A szezon kilencedik futamának rajtját a listavezető, Max Verstappen várta a legkedvezőbb pozícióból, célja pedig ismét a 100 százalékos hétvége teljesítése volt azt követően, hogy a pénteki és a szombati időmérőt valamint a sprintet is ő nyerte.
Mellőle Charles Leclerc indult, aki a kvalifikáción már meg tudta szorongatni a hollandot: köre mindössze 48 ezreddel volt lassabb az övénél.
A második sorból Carlos Sainz és Lando Norris, a harmadikból pedig Lewis Hamilton és Lance Stroll indult. A pontversenyben harmadik Fernando Alonso ezúttal csak a hetedik, a vártnál gyengébb időmérőt teljesítő George Russell pedig csak a tizenegyedik helyről indult.
A spanyol és a brit mellett a felzárkózás volt a célja Sergio Péreznek is, aki a tizenötödik rajtkockából startolt, miután az időmérő második etapjában mindhárom gyorskörét törölték a pályahatárok átlépése miatt.
Leclerc a startnál, illetve azt követően, az első kör több kanyarjában is mindent megpróbált Verstappen ellen, a holland azonban védte pozícióját, a második kör elején pedig a monacóinak már nem is volt lehetősége, pályára küldték ugyanis a biztonsági autót, a pályán ugyanis több törmelék is maradt Cunoda Juki kicsúszása után.
Az újraindításkor Verstappen már sokkal határozottabb volt: ezúttal esélyt sem hagyott Leclerc-nek, akivel szemben rövid időn belül két másodpercesre növelte előnyét. Sőt, a monacóinak inkább hátra kellett figyelnie, Sainz ugyanis tapadt rá.
A negyedik helyen a honfitársát megelőző Hamilton haladt, majd Norris, Alonso, Nico Hülkenberg, Stroll, Pierre Gasly és Alexander Albon volt a sorrend a pontszerzők között.
Ami a felzárkózókat illeti, Pérez a tizedik körben a tizenegyedik helyen állt, miután Russellt is maga mögé utasította, aki tehát veszített is egy pozíciót a rajthelyéhez képest. Nem alakult jól a futam ezen szakasza a csapattárs számára sem: Hamilton figyelmeztetést kapott a pályahatárok miatt (a büntetés kapujába került), miközben arra panaszkodott, autója eléggé lassú…
Nála is rosszabbul járt Hülkenberg, aki korai kerékcseréje után, a tizenegyedik körben füstölgő motorral állt félre… ezzel ismét dicstelenül ért véget egy futam a Haas és a rutinos német számára a kiugróan jó időmérő után.
Kiesését virtuális biztonsági autós fázis követte, amit az élmezőnyből Verstappen kivételével mindenki kihasznált és teljesítette az első kerékcserét. Ezt a Ferrari teljesítette leglassabban: Leclerc és Sainz esetében is másodperceket veszítettek, és mivel a két autót egyszerre hívták ki, a spanyol emiatt is veszített még – ez már pozíciókban is mérhető volt, Hamilton és Norris is elé került.
Néhány kör alatt azonban visszanyerte az elveszített pozíciókat: mindkét brit pilótát a pályán utasította maga mögé. Hamilton röviddel ezelőtt újabb rossz hírt kapott, pályaszélesítés miatt 5 másodperces büntetéssel sújtották miután az utolsó figyelmeztetés ellenére is vétett a szabályok ellen.
Sainz a huszadik körben az első etapját elnyújtó Pérezt is maga mögé utasította. A csapattárs, Leclerc ezalatt kerékcseréje után, a friss gumikon folyamatosan csökkentette lemaradását Verstappennel szemben, aki továbbra is azokon az abroncsokon volt kinn, melyekkel a futamot kezdte.
A holland a huszonötödik körben teljesítette kiállását (egy körrel később a csapattárs is), ami után Sainz mögé került, a spanyol azonban nem tudta túl sokáig maga mögött tartani: két körrel később már Verstappen volt a második, és elképesztő tempóval zárkózott az élre kerülő Leclerc-re is.
A huszonnyolcadik körben a negyedik helyen is láthattunk egy helycserét: Norris vette át a pozíciót honfitárstól, Hamiltontól, jelezve, valóban van fantázia a McLaren fejlesztéseiben. Ezalatt az FIA jelezte, Hamilton után Sainz is öt másodperces büntetést kap a pályahatárok miatt – ezzel Norris hirtelen a dobogóra is esélyessé vált, hiszen pont öt másodperccel volt a spanyol mögött.
Verstappen a harmincnegyedik körben Leclerc-t is utolérte és őt is gyorsan, simán lehagyta, viszonylag gyorsan visszaszerezte tehát az elsőséget – ráadásul úgy, hogy egy „fokkal” keményebb keveréket használt, mint a Ferrari versenyzői. A futam ezen szakaszában pályahatáros büntetést kapott Nyck, de Vries, Ocon, Albon és Gasly is.
A versenyzők ezt még második kiállásukkor „letöltötték” a boxban (abban az esetben, ha valakinek már nincs hátra kiállása, az 5 másodperc a versenyidejéhez adódik hozzá), Sainz és Norris csatájában pedig meg is történt a csere. A McLaren versenyzője viszont a hideg gumikon nem tudta túl sokáig megtartani helyezését: Sainz hamar visszaelőzte őt. Ezzel viszont nem ért véget kettejük párharca, Norris ugyanis nem szakadt le Sainz előzése után.
Sőt, a futam utolsó szakaszára Pérez is megérkezett kettejük mögé, miután sikeresen átugrotta Alonsót és Hamiltont is. Tizenöt körrel a vége előtt aztán levadászta Norrist is, két fordulóval később pedig Sainz ellen is támadást indított: ekkor vette kezdetét a futam – és talán a szezon eddigi – leglátványosabb párharca: a Red Bull és a Ferrari versenyzője több körön keresztül vívott kerék-kerék elleni csatát, amiből végül a mexikói jött ki győztesen, aki tehát felzárkózott a harmadik helyre, a tizenötödikről indulva!
A futam végén Verstappen került a figyelem középpontjába, aki meggyőzte csapatát, hogy az utolsó körökre tegyék fel a lágy abroncsot (huszonhárom másodperces előnye volt, belefért a csere) és így a leggyorsabb körért járó pluszpontra is ráhajthat (ekkor ez Péreznél volt).
A címvédő végül ezt a feladatot is abszolválta: megfutotta a leggyorsabb kört és valóban tökéletes hétvégét teljesített, begyűjtötte a megszerezhető pontok maximumát.
Másodikként Leclerc ért célba, Pérez pedig a harmadik pozícióig zárkózott. Saiznak végül be kellett érnie a negyedik, Norrisnak pedig az ötödik helyezéssel. Pontot Alonso, Hamilton, Russell, Gasly és Stroll szerzett még a versenyen. Folytatás a jövő héten a silverstone-i Brit Nagydíjjal!

Az előnyét a vb-pontverseny élén ezzel tovább növelő 25 éves pilótának pályafutása 170. F1-es viadalán ez volt a 40., és az idei ötödik futamgyőzelme.
Verstappen mögött a hétszeres vb-győztes Lewis Hamilton, a Mercedes brit versenyzője ért célba másodikként, míg a dobogó alsó fokára a másik Mercedest vezető, szintén brit George Russell állhatott fel.
A rajtnál a második kockából induló Carlos Sainz Jr. (Ferrari) megszorongatta Verstappent, de a vb-címvédő megvédte a vezető pozíciót és körről körre növelte az előnyét közvetlen üldözőjével szemben. A start után Hamilton és Lando Norris (McLaren) versenyautói értek össze egy pillanatra, emiatt utóbbinak a boxba kellett hajtania első vezetőszárny cserére. Hamilton néhány kör erejéig elveszítette a dobogós pozíciót Lance Stroll-lal (Aston Martin) szemben, de aztán hamarosan visszavette a harmadik helyet.
A 16. körben Sainzot kerékcserére a boxba hívta a Ferrari, Hamiltont pedig ezután a 25. körig a pályán hagyta a Mercedes, s aztán a hétszeres vb-győztes az új abroncsokkal nagyjából 2.5 másodperccel Sainz mögé tért vissza a pályára. Verstappen két körrel később hajtott be a boxba új gumikért és simán visszajött az első helyre.
Hamilton a 28. kör elején megelőzte Sainzot és feljött másodiknak, hátránya csaknem 12 másodperc volt az élen száguldó Verstappenhez képest. Néhány körrel később a másik Mercedest vezető Russell is utolérte és megelőzte Sainzot, akire az újabb veszélyt a 11. helyről rajtoló, de ekkor már ötödik Sergio Pérez (Red Bull) jelentette.
Russell a 46. körben kapott friss abroncsokat, két körrel korábban Sainz is a boxban járt, így ekkor Pérez átvette a harmadik pozíciót. Az 51. körben a mexikói versenyzőnek is új gumikat szereltek fel a Red Bull garázsánál, majd az 53. körben Verstappen állt ki újfent és tért vissza az élre.
A folytatásban már nem történt jelentős változás, Verstappen magabiztosan diadalmaskodott megelőzve a két Mercedes-versenyzőt, Pérez pedig negyedikként végzett.

A címvédőt ez sem zavarta meg, ahogy a másodikként célba érkező Fernando Alonsót és az idei első dobogóját ünneplő Esteban Ocont sem.
Az elmúlt évek egyik legizgalmasabb időmérője után Max Verstappen várta az első helyről a Monacói Nagyíj rajtját, mellőle pedig Fernando Alonso indult, aki tegnap mindössze 84 ezreddel maradt el a címvédőtől.
A harmadik rajthelyre Esteban Ocon állíthatta fel az Alpine-t, miután Charles Leclerc három helyes büntetést kapott Lando Norris feltartásáért. Ocon mellől Carlos Sainz indult.
Az ötödik pozícióból Lewis Hamilton vágott neki a futamnak, a hatodikról pedig Leclerc, kinek feltett szándéka volt az őt hosszú évek óta sújtó „monacói átok” megtörése. A negyedik sor Pierre Gaslyé és George Russellé, az ötödik Cunoda Jukié és Norrisé volt.
Verstappen csapattársa és bajnoki kihívója, Sergio Pérez az utolsó helyről indult, miután tegnap hibázott az időmérő első szakaszában.
A tegnap sokat emlegetett eső a rajt idejére nem érkezett meg a pályára, a mezőny tehát száraz körülmények között vágott neki a futamnak, igaz, az ég egyre sötétebb lett az idő múlásával.
Ami a taktikákat illeti, az élmezőny – és a rajtrács egésze – változatosan gondolkodott: Verstappen, Ocon és Hamilton a közepeseken, Alonso és a Ferrari versenyzői a keményeken vágtak neki a monacói futamnak.
A rajt meglehetősen higgadtan telt: az élen mindenki tartotta pozícióját, hátrébb viszont volt néhány koccanás: Lance Stroll és Alexander Albon, valamint Nico Hülkenberg és Logan Sargeant is „megtalálta” egymást.
A németnek a boxba is ki kellett állnia, sőt később egy 5 másodperces büntetést is kapott. Az indulás után rögtön kiállt Pérez is, aki ezzel le is tudta a kötelező cserét (közepesekről keményekre váltott).
Az első körökben Verstappen szépen lassan kiépített egy két-két és fél másodperces előnyt Alonsóval szemben, aki pedig héttel vezetett Ocon előtt. A francia mögött már nagyobb volt a „sor”: Sainz, Hamilton, Leclerc, Gasly, Russell és Cunoda is öt másodpercen belül volt az Alpine versenyzőjéhez képest.
Sainz a tizenegyedik körben, az alagút után el is szánta magát az előzésre, manőver helyett azonban koccant francia riválisával, ennek hatására pedig megsérült az első szárnya. Felmerült, ezt azonnal cserélni kell, a Ferrari viszont úgy látta, a spanyol a pályán maradhat.
Verstappen eközben tovább növelte előnyét: a tizenhetedik körben már hat másodperccel vezetett Alonso előtt (aki egy pillanatig a frászt hozta szurkolóira, amikor megjegyezte, érzése szerint defektet kapott, a csapat viszont válaszolt, nem lát problémát), a spanyol pedig már több mint tízzel előzte meg Ocont.
A legtöbb akció ekkor a mezőny végén történt: Pérez néhány kör alatt felzárkózott az előtte lévőkre, a tizenkilencedikben pedig maga mögé utasította a folyamatosan lassú Sargeantet, akit Kevin Magnussen és Stroll is lehagyott.
Újabb tíz kör leforgása alatt Verstappen tíz másodperc fölé növelte előnyét, ami a harmincadik kör táján fogyni kezdett, amikor a holland utolérte a mezőny végén és elkezdte lekörözni riválisait. Alonso ekkor öt másodpercesre csökkentette lemaradását.
A verseny ezen szakaszában vették kezdetüket a kerékcserék is, és bár Ocon időt veszített a kiállással, erős kivezető körének köszönhetően éppen vissza tudott jönni Sainz elé, megőrizve ezzel a harmadik helyet.
Pérez ezekben a körökben több „kalandba” is belekeveredett: először Stroll-lal koccant, amikor az őket leköröző Verstappen szélárnyékában leelőzte a kanadait, az alagút végén viszont összeértek. Később Magnussent találta el hátulról, szintén az alagút után. Első szárnya ekkor megsérült, amit látva a Red Bull ki is hívta a boxba, hogy lecserélje a sérült elemet és egyúttal a mexikói abroncsait is (eldőlt tehát, hogy nem egy korai kiállással csinálja végig a futamot).
Miután Alonso is megérkezett a bolyba, ismét nőtt a távolság köze és Verstappen között, nem ment azonban vissza, tíz másodperc fölé, hanem nyolc-kilencnél stagnált, a spanyol tehát összességében közelebb került ellenfeléhez.
Verstappen az ötvenedik körre növelte újra tíz másodpercesre az előnyét, három fordulóval később viszont borult minden taktika, a pálya egyes részein ugyanis esni kezdett az eső. A versenyzőknek körről körre óvatosabban kellett hajtaniuk, és egyre többen döntöttek úgy, hogy kiállnak köztes abroncsokért.
A vizes pálya az élmezőnyből legjobban Sainzot tréfálta meg, aki kicsúszott az első kanyarnál, ezzel értékes pozíciókat veszítve.
A cserék után továbbra is Verstappen, Alonso, Ocon volt a sorrend az élen, a holland előnye viszont megkétszereződött, Alonso ugyanis kétszer is kiállt: először még slickeket kapott, majd amint az eső erősödött, rögtön visszatért köztesekért…
Az esőkáosz legnagyobb nyertese Russell volt, aki hosszan elnyújtotta első etapját, vagyis rögtön közteseket kapott, ezzel pedig a nyolcadikról az ötödik helyre ugrott. Igaz, veszélyes kiengedésért öt másodperces büntetés kapott, tehát a körülmények mellett az órával is versenyeznie kellett a futam utolsó szakaszában. A fiatal brit dolgát nehezítette, hogy neki is volt egy megcsúszása, amivel értékes időt veszített.
A futam végén jelentős változások már nem történtek – legalábbis az élen, a pontzóna végén ugyanis a McLaren kettőse vívott egy-egy jó csatát a fékekkel küszködő Cunodával, akit mindketten maguk mögé utasítottak.
Akit senki sem tudott maga mögé utasítani, az ismét Verstappen volt, aki mai győzelmével a bajnokságban is komoly fórra tett szert, huszonöttel több pontot gyűjtött ugyanis, mint Pérez, aki megrekedt a középmezőnyben. A holland mellé Alonso és Ocon állhatott fel a dobogóra. Hamilton negyedik, Russell ötödik lett az átalakított Mercedesszel, majd Leclerc, Gasly, Sainz, Norris és Oscar Piastri volt a sorrend a pontzónában.
Folytatás szünet nélkül Barcelonában, a Spanyol Nagydíjjal, ahol a 2023-as szezon hetedik futamát teljesíti majd a királykategória mezőnye.

A 25 éves Verstappennek ez az idei második és pályafutása 37. futamgyőzelme, melynek köszönhetően növelte előnyét a vb-pontverseny élén.
Verstappen mögött a hétszeres világbajnok brit Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) ért célba, míg a kétszeres vb-győztes spanyol Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) harmadik lett.
A rajt után George Russell (Mercedes) már az első kanyarban megelőzte a pole pozícióból startoló Verstappent, aki a kör végére még egy helyet veszített, ugyanis Hamilton szintén lehagyta egy határozott manőverrel. A monacói Charles Leclerc-nek (Ferrari) a harmadik kanyarig tartott a futam, akkor a sóderágyba csúszott és fel kellett adnia a küzdelmet. Az eset miatt a pályára hajtott a biztonsági autó, amely a harmadik kör végén útjára engedte a mezőnyt, elől Russell, majd sorrendben Hamilton és Verstappen száguldott.
Néhány körrel később Alexander Albon (Williams) csúszott meg az egyik kanyarban és a gumifalnak csapódott, így ismét érkezett a Safety Car. Russellt ekkor az élről a boxba hívta kerékcserére a Mercedes, ez azonban pár perccel később rossz döntésnek bizonyult. A pályára került törmelék miatt ugyanis piros zászlóval félbeszakították a futamot, így bármelyik autón szabadon lehetett gumit váltani.
A mezőny nagyjából 15 perc után folytathatta a versenyt, mégpedig állórajttal, és ezt követően Hamilton, Verstappen, Alonso volt a dobogós helyeken száguldók sorrendje. Verstappen aztán nagyon hamar és könnyedén átvette a vezetést Hamiltontól, majd Russell volt kénytelen feladni a futamot műszaki hiba miatt.
Az izgalmakra egészen a futam végéig kellett várnia a nézőknek, addig nem sok minden történt, viszont három körrel a leintés előtt újfent piros zászlóval leállították a viadalt. Erre egy felniről leszakadt és a pályán heverő gumi miatt került sor, így az utolsó két körnek ismét állórajttal vágtak neki a versenyzők.
Az új start után már az első kanyarban és az azt követő egyenesben is történtek ütközések, így azonnal ismét piros zászlós félbeszakítás következett, majd a versenybíróság új rajtot rendelt el. Ennek a sorrendje ugyanaz volt, mint az előzőé, de akik kiestek, azok már nem állhattak fel a rajtrácsra. A mezőny így a biztonsági autó mögött teljesített egy kört, melynek végén leintették a futamot.
Az Ausztrál Nagydíj háromnapos programja során összesen 444 ezer néző látogatott el a melbourne-i Albert Parkba, ez látogatói csúcs a viadal történetében.

Nagyjából ötven perccel az 53 körösnek tervezett Japán Nagydíj kezdete előtt esni kezdett az eső, így a bokszból rajtoló Pierre Gasly kivételével az egész mezőny átmeneti esőgumikkal vágott neki a futamnak.
Az állórajt után Charles Leclerc bebújt Max Verstappen mellé, de a holland maradt az élen, mögöttük azonban a Sergio Pérez által megelőzött Carlos Sainz felúszott egy vízátfolyáson és összetörte a Ferrarit. Sainz egy reklámtáblának ütközött, ami lerepült a helyéről és Gasly éppen eltalálta azt, a pályára került törmelékek és az egyre intenzívebb eső miatt pedig piros zászlóval megszakították a futamot. Gasly később még tudta folytatni a futamot, Sainz és a műszaki hibát szenvedő Alexander Albon azonban kiesett.
Még a piros zászló lengetése előtt, a biztonsági autó mögött egy daru kezdte menteni Sainz autóját, ezt pedig Pérez és Gasly is dühösen tette szóvá, hiszen Jules Bianchi ugyanitt hasonló körülmények után, szörnyű látási viszonyok között szenvedett halálos balesetet nyolc évvel ezelőtt.
Először ötven perccel a rajt utánra adták meg az újraindítás időpontját, ám magyar idő szerint 7:48-kor, mikor már a pilóták visszaültek az autókba, felfüggesztették a döntésüket, így tovább folytatódhatott a várakozás.
Ahogy telt az idő és közeledtünk a háromórás időlimit végéig, egyre kisebb esélye volt Verstappen vb-címének bebiztosítására, hiszen egyre valószínűtlenebb volt, hogy akár a táv negyedét teljesítik, ami elengedhetetlen lett volna hozzá. A radarképek alapján szintén egyre biztosabb volt, hogy nem ünnepelhet címvédést a holland, hiszen az esőfelhők nem akartak elmozdulni a pálya fölül.
Végül mégis újraindították a versenyt 9:15-kor – azaz háromnegyed órával a vége előtt – a biztonsági autó mögött. A pilóták fogadtatása vegyes volt, különösen a sereghajtók panaszkodtak a vízfüggönyre, ám néhány kör után mégis kihívták a Safety Cart, így egy gördülő rajttal negyven perccel a vége előtt nekiindulhatott a mezőny. Vettel és Latifi azonnal az intermediate-ekre váltott, majd egyre többen követték őket, az élen pedig óvatosan köröztek változatlan sorrendben.
Két körön belül a köridők elemzése után a teljes mezőny átmeneti esőgumikra váltott, Schumacher tartott ki a legtovább, de nem vált be a Haas taktikája, így az utolsó helyre esett vissza.
Verstappen az élen tovább növelte az előnyét, Leclerc-t pedig Pérez üldözte a második helyért, ahogy közeledtünk a féltávhoz. Mögöttük Ocon és Hamilton csatázott a negyedik helyért, és egy Mercedes-Alpine párharc alakult ki a hetedik pozícióért is. Mellettük Vettel (6.), Latifi (9.) és Norris (10.) állt pontszerző helyen, amikor elkezdődött az utolsó tíz perc.
Alonsót nyolc perccel a leintés előtt a bokszba hívta az Alpine új intermediate-ekért, mert a mezőny hátuljában többen is javítottak a köridejükön azok közül, akik hasonlóan tettek. Végül a spanyolnak nem vált be a taktika, ugyanis nem tudott előrelépni a hetedik helyhez képest, ahonnan kihívták.
Az utolsó körökben húsz másodperc fölé nőtt Verstappen előnye, Leclerc nyakára pedig szorosan megérkezett Pérez, de előznie már nem sikerült a mexikóinak, noha a monacói egyszer a pályáról is lecsúszott. Éppen az ezután bemutatott veszélyes visszatérés miatt azonban utólag ötmásodperces büntetést kapott Leclerc, így noha ő ért be másodiknak, Pérez szerezte meg a második helyet.
Mivel épphogy, de teljesítették a táv felét, ezért az első tíz helyezett kapott pontot, azonban mindezt 19-14-12-9-8-6-5-3-2-1 elosztásban kapták volna, ezzel pedig Verstappen a világbajnoki címvédését még nem biztosította volna be Szuzukában (a leggyorsabb kört a pontszerző helyeken kívül záró Csou szerezte meg, így senki nem kapott plusz pontot).
Azonban az F1 úgy döntött, teljes pontokat osztanak, mert újraindított futamról volt szó, így pedig elegendő pontkülönbséget szedett össze a holland ahhoz, hogy bebiztosítsa második világbajnoki címét!
